Which level for which age?

A starting point, not a rule. Children who are new to mazes often enjoy one level below their age; puzzle fans jump a level up. Read the full guide.

Starter3–51–2 minWide paths and a few turns. Trace with a finger first, then a crayon.
Easy5–72–4 minA handful of dead ends to back out of. Good for pencil control.

Made for a stack of photocopies

One batch, many versions

Make up to 12 different mazes at once. Every maze gets its own seed, so neighbours in class do not share an answer.

Keys you can hold back

Print the answer after each puzzle for self-checking, or put all keys at the end, four to a page, for the teacher's folder.

Come back to the same sheet

Keep the seed or copy the share link. Next term, the same settings give the same mazes and the same keys.

Maze maker FAQ

Are these mazes solvable?

Yes. Every maze is a perfect maze: all cells are connected and there is exactly one route from the start to the finish. The generator is checked with a script that builds 50 mazes for every shape and level and confirms the route, the openings and the drawn answer line.

Which maze level suits which age?

As a starting point: Starter for ages 3 to 5, Easy for 5 to 7, Medium for 7 to 9, Hard for 9 to 12 and Expert for 12 and up. Move one level up or down after the first sheet. The ages and levels guide has more detail.

Can I print the answer keys separately?

Yes. Choose All at the end and the answer keys are printed after every puzzle, four to a page, so you can keep them back.

Can I make the same worksheet again?

Yes. The same seed and settings always give the same mazes. Copy the share link to keep or send the exact worksheet.

Is there a PDF download?

Yes. Download PDF saves the whole batch, answer pages included, as a vector PDF that stays sharp at any printer resolution. You can also print directly or save a page as SVG.

Does this need an account?

No. Mazes are generated in your browser. Nothing is uploaded and there is no sign-up.
